Dirilis Ertugrul Season 2 Story: Kayi were settled in Erzerum when Mongols attacked them and burnt nomadic homes of Kayi people that resulted in massacring half their tribe while Ertugrul was being arrested by Bayko Noyan's soldiers.

As Kayi people has no choice left so they seek refuge with Dodurga tribe, the tribe of Hayme Hatun's brother Korkut Bey. The son of Korkut, Tugtekin, who was already jealous of Ertugrul's fame and wisdom, creates problems for Ertugrul. Meanwhile, the Gundogdu is misled by Aytolun and Gumustekin, as Gumustekin wanted to marry his only daughter to him and wishes to become the military governor of all Turkmen with the help of Saddetin Kopek. Only for the sake of this purpose, Aytolin (Gumustekin's sister) married the Korkut Bey because they were willing to get supported by all Turk tribes. Selcan hatun is aware of all their schemes and warns Gundogdu but he never put an ear to what she told him because of her misdeeds she has done in the past.

Aside from this mess, another problem was Tugtekin's alp, Kocabas, who was working with Mongol Commander as he succeeded to turn the heart of Tugtekin against Ertugrul. Aytolun and Gumustekin planned a scheme against Korkut and killed him and when their treachery is caught, they are killed by Ertugrul. Noyan planned an ambush and Turgtekin is martyred in his attack, after which Ertugrul tried to kill Noyan, he supposed as Noyan is died but in real, he escaped. In the end of the season the Kayi people are being splitted in two parts, about 1000 of Kayi people migrates to Ahlat with Gundogdu while rest 400 people along with Hayme hatun migrates to Anatolia with Ertugrul.
